Top 10, Number 4-Networks

Children’s ministry can be a lonely ministry. It seems on every front there is a mind set that must be changed or met. Parents have one set of expectations for you,  your leaders have other expectations, your volunteers have another set of expectations, and the kids do also.  Of course lets not forget that you have a set of expectations for yourself and you also have expectations for everyone I just mentioned. OK so any ministry position can claim all of that. Children’s ministry is unique in the fact that it’s not been an established position as long as many other positions in the church.  Finding established children’s pastors can be a difficult task. That is why networks are so important! It is very common for those in children’s ministry to feel “alone” like no one understands them or their ministry. You need to actively seek out others who minister to kids. You need to make it a priority to hang out with them and get to know them and invite others to take part in your network! In these networks you find understanding, and common ground. That’s something we all need, even if we don’t know it.
